"Amazing synastry" would be a chart with alot of conjunctions, sextiles or trines between the most important planets involved in a relationship, mainly Sun and Moon, Mars and Venus, and, in my experience, the nodes. ![]() The condition of Mars in both of your Charts will tweak that better or worse, as a couple and individually. His Ascendant is Scorpio, yours is Capricorn, Mars rules Scorpio and is the Exaltation Ruler of Capricorn, so I'd say you have a good foundation for a lasting relationship. I don't use the Outer Planets because they aren't relevant, but what you want to see in synastry is the same Ascendant Ruler, or the Ascendant Rulers in each others Rulerships or Exaltations, or in sextile or trine (Reception isn't necessary, but obviously Reception makes the relationship stronger and Mutual Reception strongest). The status of the Ascendant Rulers determines a number of things, most importantly whether there is a good foundation for the relationship, and whether the relationship is lasting or not, so yes, Ascendant Rulers are the most important thing in a synastry chart. Calculating the Chart Ruler requires a Table of Terms, and knowledge of the Conjunctional/Preventional and such and it isn't necessary to know that until you've been practicing a few years. The Chart Ruler is the most powerful Planet in the Chart, but it doesn't have to be the Ascendant Ruler and often isn't. ![]() Chart Rulers and Ascendant Rulers are not the same thing.
